Based in the beautiful Mote Park, we are a small rock festival with a 5000 capacity that has outstanding facilities, all situated close together. We are described by many of our fans as a ‘rock family festival’. Friendly, safe and fun for all ages.
Designed by rock fans for rock fans, we are a three-day, two-stage event. The main stage hosts world-renowned rock bands from all over the globe, combined with the very best of UK talent, while the second stage gives an important showcase to the rock bands of the future.
Heavy rock, classic rock, melodic rock, blues rock, alternative rock, hard rock and southern rock.
If it rocks, it’s welcome at Maid of Stone.

It’s quite a lot of money to pay out in one go for a 3 day festival
We think it’s great value, especially when compared to similar festivals. With over 40 bands it’s just over £4 per band even when you include the fees. Some of the bands on this line-up charge over £50 a ticket to see them perform alone. And it’s not just about the music – Maid of Stone is an experience – spending quality time in beautiful surroundings with amazing, like-minded people. Some would argue that is priceless. We also offer no-extra-fee payment plans to help spread the cost of most tickets.
Will I be comfortable? I don’t want to stand all day.
We understand, and have no issue with you bringing your own folding chair into the arena. All we ask is that you follow the clear signs of where not to put them down (front, centre stage and in walkways). There are also benches and seating spread throughout the arena, especially near food vendors. If you upgrade to VIP there are benches and comfier seating also, most of which has a main stage view.
I only like a few of the bands.
Even if you’re coming for just a few artists, there’s so much more to enjoy—from amazing food and cask beer to an alternative market, meet-and-greet signing sessions (free) and rock-themed activities like axe throwing and Guitar Hero! And with so much new music to hear you may find your new favourite artist!
Am I too old for this?
Absolutely not! Rock has no age barriers and neither do we. Maid of Stone is all ages and, while the demographic definitely skews older, it’s wonderful to see young parents attend with their children – creating the next generation of rock fans. It’s a small festival with great facilities and everything is close together. No walking for miles between stages. You can cover the entire site in less than two minutes! We have a non-judgemental, like-minded crowd who are relaxed and friendly.
What if I change my mind?
Some of our ticketing partners (like Skiddle) offer a ‘cooling off’ period on purchases and event insurance is usually available in case the worst happens before the event. While tickets are non-refundable after the ‘cooling off’ there is an active market in re-sale and we help you achieve this by ‘validating’ official tickets and helping seller match with buyer. Some tickets like Early Birds and campervan supplements are always in demand.
How big is the festival? I struggle to walk for long periods
We’re small and proudly so! With a maximum capacity of 5000 and a site you can walk in less than 2 minutes, it’s perfect for those of us who aren’t 21 anymore – or who have mobility issues. If you’re in the latter category you may also qualify for an access ticket which enables you to bring a carer, free of charge. Learn more here
